Na tejto stránke sa už pred časom objavil článok o posilňovaní tela vlastnou váhou. Ku komplexnej potrebe bojových umení ako takých určite patrí aj posilňovanie. Súčasný trend využívať k tomu posilňovne nie je vždy vhodný. Každý má mnoho povinností a nie vždy si nájde čas zájsť do gymu. Ostáva už len cvičenie doma, či v blízkej prírode so záťažou vlastného tela. Neviem prečo mám ten pocit, že tieto cviky sa pre väčšinu ľudí zužujú len na kliky, brušáky či zhyby. Naša znalosť posilňovania vlastným telom je na minimálnej úrovni. Práve z tohto dôvodu by som rád upozornil na Marka Laurena.

V roku 2010 uzrela svetlo sveta kniha You are your own gym: the bible of bodyweight exercises od Marka Laurena a Joshua Clarka. V roku 2013 sa dočkala aj slovenského prekladu z pera Mária Porubca pod názvom Telo ako posilňovňa. Knihu po formálnej stránke možno rozdeliť na tri časti. Prvá je čisto teoretická, kde autor uvádza ako sa dostal k cvičeniu, prečo posilňovať hmotnosťou vlastného tela, prečo sa zameriavať na silový tréning. Ďalšie kapitoly sú venované výžive, motivácii, intenzite tréningu, či tréningovým metódam (od strany číslo 7 po stranu 60). Druhá časť knihy je zameraná priamo na cviky, ktoré sú presne a jednoducho vysvetlené a rozdelené na jednotlivé partie tela (od strany číslo 61 po stranu 146). A poslednú časť knihy tvoria príklady jednotlivých cvikov rozdelené do tréningových programov podľa obtiažnosti.
Mark Lauren sa prezentuje ako armádny športový tréningový špecialista, triatlonista a šampión v thajskom boxe. Úspešne mal pripraviť okolo tisíc brancov na extrémne nároky najelitnejších jednotiek špeciálnych operácií.
Joshua Clark je autorom knihy Srdce ako voda: Prežiť Katrinu a žiť v zóne katastrofy. Jeho práce sa objavujú v mnohých novinách, časopisoch a antológiách. Joshua je osobným trénerom, ktorý aj vďaka práci na tejto knihe je ako tvrdí v najlepšej forme svojho života. Do posilovne nechodí odkedy hurikán Katrina zničil jeho posilňovňu.
